Favorite Hamlet Quote

The Hamlet quote that I choose is "God has given you one face, and you make yourselves another."  It means that a person makes their own decisions and actions which portray their personality.  Judging by the actions people choose to do show who they are.  I like this quote because I believe when you meet someone they can look a certain way and then when you get to know them you realize they aren't who they seem to be.  It makes sense still today and i believe everyone can relate to this quote.  "God has given you one face, and you make yourselves another" is my favorite Hamlet quote.  

Fav Film

My favorite film of Hamlet is directed by Ken Branagh.  The film follows the same beginning as the play does with the ghost scene.  I like how modern day actors were able to give their characters emotions while articulating Shakespeare's words.  Reading the book in class was not giving me the full image of the play but, when we began watching this film I was able to truly feel the depression and anger and watch has how deceit takes place throughout the play.  I also like how the actor that plays Hamlet is able to show Hamlet's character after finding out the truth about his fathers death being that the play lives off of Hamlet's emotional decisions.  The colors that are portrayed into the film gave life to the setting and mood to each scene with bright colors inside the castle to dark depressing colors at the ghost scene.  I have not yet been disappointed by this film and I look forward to watch it more.
